The Elvis print has arrived & it looks to be in almost perfect condition.
The projectionists noted no unnecessary splices or imperfections. So ooh er, a lovely cinemascope presentation & Dolby Stereo on our Giant Screen.
I’m not an Elvis fan at all, but I have enjoyed the cinematic quality & the high production values of the film for historical purposes.
Highly recommended. Could be the last time you will be able to see the film on a cinema screen…
Screening 7:15pm Friday 17th & 3pm Sunday the 19th February. 2 sessions only.

Here’s an interesting interview with the director of ‘Elvis: That’s The Way it Is’ from 1970. Denis Sanders wasn’t exactly the most prolific director, but he did direct the African-American participated concert film in Ghana ‘Soul to Soul’ (1971) & the cult favourites ‘Shock treatment’ (1964) & ‘Invasion of the Bee Girls’ (1973).

Cary Elwes is probably best known as Westley in the classic Rob Reiner film from 1985, The Princess Bride. Well now he’s directed a comedy based on a meeting of 2 famous Americans. Yes, Elvis Presley & Richard Nixon. It will star Australian Eric Bana & Englishman Danny Huston. So to get you into a refresher course on all things Elvis, hows about venturing out on either Friday the 17th or Sunday the 19th for the classic documentary/live performance ‘Elvis: That’s the Way it is’.
